Top 5 Brunch Spots for Easter in Las Vegas
For as long as I can remember, my family has gone to Easter Sunday Mass and then followed it with a decadent meal of brunch. It’s a great way to indulge in any goodies that were given up during Lent. Las Vegas has no shortage of great restaurants to visit, and it’s one of the main reasons people flock to this town year after year.
If you find yourself in need of a five star brunch meal, head to these spots and you won’t be disappointed.
1 – Sterling Brunch at Bally’s Steakhouse: A haven of abundance in otherwise humble surroundings, this establishment offers a pampered glimpse into the Las Vegas of yesteryear. You’ll be greeted by a tuxedoed GM, and ushered to your table. They are also very heavy handed with the Perrier Jouët. Lobster and a scrumptious lamb chop are entree highlights, but be sure to leave room for dessert; Bananas Foster crêpes! Head to: At Bally’s, 967-7999. Brunch served 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday, $85.
2 – Bouchon: Foodies love swoon over Thomas Keller’s artisan pastries, and it takes strength of will to keep from filling up on the sticky buns, croissant and pain au chocolat brought to you in the pastry basket. If you’re still ambitious, you’ll be rewarded with a brioche/bread pudding French toast that remains a mainstay at this iconic brunch staple.
Many look forward to the Croque -Madame (a croque monsieur made with a fried egg), boudin blanc (home-made pork sausage) or the classic chicken and waffles. Head to: At the Venetian, 414-6200. Brunch served 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, dishes priced individually.
3 – Mozen: This bistro is tucked in on the Mandarin Oriental’s third floor and provides one of the best brunches in the city courtesy of Chef Vivek Rawat. Entrees alternate frequently, but any of these Indian or Asian cuisine offerings come greatly recommended.
The buffet includes boundless and superb nigiri and sashimi, along with fresh dragon fruit. Added to this unexpected treat are tray-passed appetizers, which are sent out throughout your meal. If you’re lucky enough to get offered the mustard chicken tikka, grab two. They are delish! Head to: At Mandarin Oriental, 888-881-9367. Brunch served noon – 2:30 p.m. Sunday, $58 (includes entree & buffet).
4 – Ceres Restaurant – Spacious and elegant, with a contemporary décor, Ceres overlooks lush gardens and fountains for a quaint alfresco dining experience. Start your meal with freshly squeezed orange juice and a strawberry-banana smoothies, omelets and delectable eggs Benedict. Highlights include candied pecan waffles with maple ice cream; a breakfast croissant sandwich with fried eggs, tomato, bacon, cheddar and avocado; the Southwestern breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, chorizo, caramelized onions, black beans, jalapeños, Monterey and cheddar cheeses; and eggs Florentine with two poached eggs, sautéed spinach and hollandaise sauce. Live jazz takes place on the first and third Sundays of the month. Head to: JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa, 702-869-7381. Breakfast and Brunch served daily 6:00am to 11:00am, (12pm Saturday and 1pm Sunday) – Price range $11-30
5 – Fountains Brunch at Jasmine at Bellagio – This elegant eatery transforms from an Asian restaurant into a Cantonese Dim Sum inspired American brunch on Sundays at one of the grandest hotels on the strip, the Bellagio. The atmosphere matches the sophistication of this upscale menu, so come in your Sunday best.
