The Ultimate Guide to Being Single in Sin City

If you’re single and looking for a good time, Las Vegas is the place to be—but only if you know your way around. Sin City has another side to it—a family-friendly, Disneyland-with-blackjack-tables side—and if you’re single and ready to mingle, you don’t want to inadvertently find yourself among the strollers and fanny packs.

Want to make sure you’re partying amongst the single ladies? We’ve got you covered.

Stay On the Strip

Cutting your lodging budget down to the bare minimum sounds like a good idea—until you find yourself in a dirty, threadbare room far away from any of the singles’ action. Seriously, don’t venture off the strip, no matter how great those prices look. It’s not worth it. Not only will you isolate yourself and probably wind up in a dangerous part of town, you’ll also drop all that money you saved on cab rides back to the Strip for the privilege. Bad idea.

Instead, plan to spend a reasonable chunk on lodging, and budget to stay in the center of the Strip. You’ll be right in the middle of the action, you’ll save a ton on cab rides, and most importantly? You’ll have a baller room to impress whoever you might bring back with you. We recommend the Tropicana, New York-New York, Flamingo, and the Venetian.

Party Poolside

Now that you’ve got your hotel room nailed down, it’s time to get down to business. In Vegas, the party starts as soon as you wake up, so bring your A-game. By daylight, all the action is poolside. Most hotels have pools, but the ones most famous for their singles action are Flamingo, Caesars, Hard Rock, Rio, Mirage, Mandalay Bay, and Palms.

This is not the place to be shy—singles competition at the pool is fierce, so your confidence is even more important than your bathing suit. If you’ve got plenty of it, and don’t mind losing the latter, check out the “European” pools at Caesar’s and Mandalay Bay. Both have secret entrances, so if you find your way in, consider yourself one of Vegas’ elite.

Get Soaked with Celebrities

If you’re looking for the ultimate pool experience, hit Wet Republic at the MGM Grand. Complete with underwater speakers, VIP bungalows, and party cabanas, this place is the ultimate in wet and wild party scenes. It’s famous for celebrity sightings, so only enter if you can keep your cool around the likes of Kim Kardashian and P. Diddy.

Dance the Night Away

If you made it into Wet Republic or any of the decadent European pools, you’ll probably be tempted to hit the most high-end, exclusive clubs the strip has to offer.

Don’t. You’ll likely have to tip very high just to get in, and once inside, you’ll have to compete with high-end, professional escorts. Bottom line? Unless you’re an A-list celebrity, or you use VIP services like VegasPartyVIP, you’ll probably be sentencing yourself to a disappointing night of waiting to get in these premium Las Vegas nightclubs.

For more fun and better luck, hit the mid-level clubs. They have better dance floors, cheaper drinks, a more diverse crowd, and no whiffs of desperation in the air. 1Oak at Mirage, LAX at Luxor, Pure at Caesars, Haze at Aria, Tryst at Wynn, XS at Encore, and Hakkasan at MGM Grand are all perfect choices.

So there you have it! The ultimate singles’ guide to Las Vegas. Where will you be partying?
